It’s now been one month since K-Riz released his latest single, “In Love Again”, for our listening pleasure. If there is anyone I know who can release a song around Valentine’s Day and not have it dripping in corniness, it’s this resident love guru/hip-hop artist – or, of course, John Legend, but I think John Legend could get away with anything.
If you haven’t listened to the track yet, I suggest you grab a good pair of headphones and find a window to stare longingly out of as Edmonton’s K-Riz and Sydney Love sing about a future full of admiration and devotion (gross, I know, but it works). What I like about K-Riz’s latest release is that it melds nicely with his first single, “If We”, but holds it’s own as an individual track. Unlike “If We”, where K focuses more on his R&B roots, “In Love Again” showcases his ability to flow through lyrics in a style that I find very unique to the artist – and one that had me interested in his music from the beginning.
In light of everything happening in the world right now, I think we deserve 3 minutes and 26 seconds of reprieve to reconnect with the important things in life. I mean, let’s face it – you probably have time. Do yourself a favour and take a break from the news – check out “In Love Again”, below.
